Scratch That Chin - Wild 'Mourne' Pony - Ireland

A wild 'Mourne' Pony having a good old scratch of her chin on a tree branch. This little pony is one of 12 who roam the ancient grasses and sand dune system at the foot of the 'Mountains of Mourne' county Down Northern Ireland - made famous by the poet 'Percy French', in the song written many years ago and sung all over the world now - "Where the mountains of 'Mourne' sweep down to the sea...." thats Dundrum Bay and the Irish Sea !!!

If you are lucky to stumble across them when out walking then its a very special day .. because they can be quite elusive and at times hard to find - disappearing for weeks at a time.
